The firm was set up in 2018 as a sister branch to our Nottingham firm which has been operating since February 2007. The senior director, Zarina Sulaiman-Zeb was a solicitor for 12 years before transferring to become a Barrister. She remains on the Roll of Solicitors and has been a Partner and owner of a law firm for over 16 years.
She has 17 years post qualified experience which includes 12 years practice as a solicitor She specialises in Commercial Property and Landlord & tenant. In particular, she provides specialist, advisory, and drafting services in relation to commercial leases and business acquisitions.
The senior manager of the firm, Mr Aurang Zeb has over 20 years of post-qualified experience and was a Partner and owner of a Solicitors firm for over 14 years. He was previously a Solicitor before transferring to become a Barrister in 2010. He remains the firms in-house Counsel and Head of Litigation. He specialises in Civil & Commercial disputes, public law challenges (including Immigration) and Appeals Over the years, he has assisted many clients through every stage of the Civil litigation process.
The firm has conducted many cases in the County & High Courts up to the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
NOTABLE CASES:•Commercial Disputes– The firm successfully litigated on behalf of 2 Travel Agents against a national airline in a case relating to the breach of a commercial agreements and non-payment of commissions. The case was successful at trial and resulted in a judgement for substantial damages for the clients.
•Civil Dispute (Property): The firm represented the successful Claimant in a property dispute in relation to residential property. The case involved arguments about beneficial ownership and resulting trust. The outcome was that the Claimant received damages in lieu of his share of the property.
•Immigration Appeal – refusal of indefinite leave: The firm successfully represented the Appellant in an appeal before the Upper Tribunal in Birmingham. In the appeal, Aurang overturned a First Tier Judge's dismissal of an appeal against refusal to grant leave to remain. The Appeal was allowed.
•Judicial Review – refusal of Human Rights claim: Aurang represented a client’s case based upon his family life in the UK. He successfully drafted grounds and represented the client in a Judicial Review before the Upper Tribunal in Birmingham. Permission was granted which resulted in the Secretary of State reconsidering the refusal and leave being granted.
